Physiotherapy in your own home
Should the nature of your condition warrant that you are unable to drive or travel comfortably, physio2go® offers a full range of specialist physiotherapy services and equipment in the privacy and convenience of your own home.
Physiotherapy in your home helps to ensure that you receive the benefits of treatment at a time when you are least mobile. Often, treatment that is initiated in your home can be followed up in our clinic.
Costs – Individualised Care Packages
If your rehabilitation would benefit from either pre or post operative treatment in your own home, please call our clinic to discuss your individual needs.
Individualised care packages are available to cost-effectively integrate home and clinic visits. Often, home visits will be charged at our usual clinic fee (rather than a home treatment fee) if your home visits are followed up with clinic visits during your rehabilitation.
Physio2go’s physiotherapists are all chartered and registered with the Health Professions Council. Our therapists have post graduate training in their specialty area and the experience and expertise to work with you to maximise your efforts towards recovery.
- Bring specialised physiotherapy services and equipment to your home at a time when you are least mobile….we will come to you until you are ready to visit our clinic.
- Work with you IN YOUR HOME in the critical 2–3 weeks following surgery or injury.
- Liaise with your doctor and hospital-based physiotherapist to plan a structured, PERSONALISED rehabilitation programme for you after discharge from hospital.
- Provide you with exercise equipment, instruction and supervised practice to optimise your recovery.
Physio2go, if requested, will provide a home visit BEFORE your surgery to identify any safety issues in your home and to identify the most ‘patient friendly’ areas and furniture.
What our patients think…
“I found the physio2go home visit service of great value after my knee replacement surgery on two counts: Firstly, it gave me re-assurance in the immediate post-operative stage when I had no bench marks from previous experience about my mobility. Secondly I was able to target from the start the exercises most beneficial to my recovery and start my physiotherapy in a disciplined way.”
Lord (Tom) McNally
“When I left hospital following an operation for a knee replacement, I was told it was vitally important for me to continue a regular programme of physiotherapy. Easier said than done, as I live three miles from the nearest physiotherapy practice and was finding it very painful to squeeze into a car. Fortunately, a friend told me about Physio2go, and I was able to arrange a visit from Fiona shortly after I got back home. She took me through a set of exercises and showed me the best way to navigate around the house, in particular a safe way to go up and down stairs. On subsequent visits she checked on my progress and gave me a lot of encouragement during the early, painful stages of the recovery. She got me walking normally, without limping, and, after three more visits, I was sufficiently recovered to get out of the house and to take the first steps back to a normal life. I was able to take further treatment from Fiona at her office.”
“I would strongly recommend Fiona, and the service provided by Physio2go, to anyone undergoing this type of surgery.”
